What a lovely Autumn Morning for a Run in ‘em there hills

Well I had planned to do a 10K race this morning, but I hadn’t entered, and was going to enter on the day. Bad idea, waking up first thing the idea of getting out of bed, and then to run a 10K as fast as I can (which I know will hurt a lot) for some reason didn’t appeal. So I just turned of the alarm and snuggled back down into the blankets for another hour.

So instead I decided to go for a run along the summit road. It was a stunning day, and it seemed that every runner, Mountain biker and Roadie in Christchurch had exactly the same idea. Normally having my peaceful run interrupted by so many people would have iterated me, but no today I was enjoying myself way to much. Was planning 1.5hr run, but forgot to start my watch, so not 100% sure how long I was, probably a bit shorter than that. On the way out, ran along the tracks and the way back on the road, only 2 weeks to the chch half marathon, and I am not sure how my legs will stand up to all that pavement pounding, so thought I better do some road work.

Me and my adventuress spirit saw a track I hadn’t taken before and decided to follow it, the trouble when i do this is it turns out it is normally a very steep track or or very knarly track that I have trouble running on, so i lose the rthymn of the run, and once again it proved to be true, took the track that takes you to the top of Mt Vernan, straight up and no way I could run, and down the other side was really knarly. I am so hopeless going down. But I have developed a new goal for myself, by the end of the year, I want to be able to run down that track, with out tripping over my own feet and face planting.
