Name my Kayak!

My new kayak (which isn’t that new anymore ) has been nameless for far to long. Its a great little kayak, rather quite speedy, good to control and not too unstable. Its a VOK sprinter, nice bright blue.
My old dear old kayak was called Barney, he had his faults, he was slow and heavy and coming to the end his life, but he made sure that I got down the river as safe and possible. I formed a emotional attachment to that dear little boat (and Tanya’s let him get all dirty, poor little boat).
I don’t have that same attachment to the current Kayak, and feel it needs a name. I have thrown a blank to think of a name for it.
The tick, Papa smurf maybe….
I’m going to be really corny and suggest “James”, as in James Dolphin – he’s a sprinter, and Dolphins tend to live in water don’t they! Maybe Jim for short.
Now I’m not going to be able to sleep tonight, trying to think of names. Darn you Maclaren.

Blues Clues
Huckleberry Hound (he was blue wasn’t he??)
Bluebell – if it’s a girl (what sex are kayaks anyway?)
Rocket – she might go faster then
Blue Moon – then you could sing that sing everytime you use her
Smurfette – just cos you can

Just a friendly name that you can use in a familiar way, like you would a pet. As for sex, think they supposed to be female, but I always think of them as “he”.. go figure
