Men!
Over the last few month’s we’ve been building up the pieces for our home entertainment system. A couple of months ago I purchased the final piece to the collection, a laptop. But not until last night did we actually get around to purchasing a HDMI cable to connect everything together. So as soon a we get home, he has to connect everything up straight away.
Him: “I don’t now which setting it is”
Her: “Have you checked the instructions”
Him: “No, I don’t know where they, are, you’ve hidden them”
Her: Goes into the “junk” room, gets the box of “entertainment” stuff of the shelve, just above eye level, in obvious view and finds the instruction. “Yes they were extermly hard to find.”
Him: Sits down and plays around with trying to connect everything for ages.
Her: Gets extremely bored, because she can’t watch tele, her play with laptop, but patiently waits. (I’m such a saint
, not really but learnt over the years, if I try to help, arguments only ensue. )
Him: “It doesn’t work. Its not going to connect”
Her: Not a techno dummy, and knows perfectly well that the everything should be able to connect . So he can’t pull that wool over her eyes. But just agrees with him, thinking, I’ll work it out later. “Can I use the computer now?”
Him: sitting there playing with the remote discovers that the HDMI slots were set to OFF.
Her: “Didn’t the instructions say that?”
Him: shuffling through the instructions “Yes, but they could have said, they defaulted to Off.”
Training update
Rest day today, so active recovery session this morning. Braved Centinnel pool, hoping that no angry “pool rages” would be around. Haven’t swam in ages, and was feeling very slow, and bored by the end of my 15min. Then stretch session in the suana. Always feel nice and relax after this session, which is all good.

Classic Nadia. Your years perfecting your “patience without speaking” has stood up to a difficult test.
Reading the instructions is right up there with asking for directions “it’s never going to happen”.
I am going to have to say that there is still problems connecting, and after reading the instruction manual I ma more confused than I was before. But still…
Ok, another update, I could have been a little tough on him… We just the afternoon with Harvey Norman, pointing out that the amp receiver they sold us 5 months ago doesn’t seem to be up to what it advertises it does. The info will be given to the manager, tomorrow and hopefully they’ll just replace the amp with one that does what we intend. They seemed to think that this would not be a problem.
