A 10 year life plan
“Live each day with Joy, don’t look to the future to bring you the happiness you seek” Quote by Nadia
I like to take each day as it comes. But even so, I have decided to write a few goals and asberations of what I want from the next 10years.
Athletic Events – Events that I want to acheive in the next ten years. Though I do forsee this changing as my interests grow and develop. Next year I might have given track cycling a go, and it might become my main focus. These are fluid and its what I forsee now. These are only the end result of the next catgegory “training satisfaction” as this is what is going to contribute to my Joy in each day. For all these competitions I want to achieve relative to myself. Lately I have been concerning myself more and more with how I get placed relative to others. Yes I am competitive, I don’t like to come last or even middle, but when I am disappointed, its not because I didn’t beat a certain person, its because normally because, I didn’t achieve what I could of, I didn’t race hard enough; didn’t train enough, or smart enough; I didn’t stick to the race plan.
6 Month Goal – Achieve ultra marathon off road race, within cut off time
18 Month Goal – Do Coast 2 coast 2 day individual and be placed in top 20 (yes I am sticking with the unrealistic dream of getting a top placing, but I think I would be happy with 5.5hr run)
5 year Goal – Do a one of the “big” overseas marathons: New York, London, Paris etc
10 year Goal – Do Coast to Coast Longest day
- Do a Ironman
Training statisfaction
Follow the Stotan Code. Ok I only read the stotan code 30min ago and thought it might fit into this plan. Not sure if it will stand up to my plan for the next 10 years. we shall see.
But back to Training satisfaction. I know I can not enjoy each and every session. Its the outcome that they bring, that will bring the satisfaction. For if I thought I shouldn’t do it because I would not enjoy it, than I just wouldn’t get out of bed on the freezing cold blustery mornings.
The Stotan Code ( Percy Cerutty ‘Maker of Champions’)
A program shall be aimed at which shall be designed to [train each Stotan]:-
(a)… to withstand physical hardship, to accomplish feats of strength and endurance, to understand orderliness, and the true meaning of intelligence.
(b) To know himself as an organism and a personality
(c) To emerge, eventually emancipated, from all dogmas, creeds, and beliefs, as well as worldly and unworldly hopes and fears.
(d) To habitually function upon the highest planes of thought and physical effort.
(e) To place the objective of an alert, informed intelligence, and a perfected body, as primary in Life. And to arrive at the conclusion that all else will follow on.
(f) To learn that on this basis, the whole world, and all that it has to offer, opens out as a vision, splendid, normal and realizable.
(g) To understand that Past, Futures, Fates, Fears, Death, Selfishness, Egoism, Pride, Envy, Hate and Prejudice can be replaced by Intelligence that controls emotion, dominates destiny, manifests completeness and exults in Life.
(h) To understand that, in actuality, evolved man is a King, but without the trappings. That Kingship is his right and his destiny. That we can make ourselves, in time, all that we would. That we honour real men but are subservient to none.
Work and Monetary Acheivements
To quote Gordo “I need to exercise consistent fiscal discipline across all areas of my life”.
I want to be finically secure to have the independance and freedom to do what I want in my life. But money in itself will not provide happiness or security. I see it only as a means to a end.
To be financially secure that I can cut back the amount of work that I do so that I can do the things that make me the most happy in life. Though the alternative to this would be to create a job that allows me to do the things I enjoy and earn money at the same time.
Personal Achievements
Exeprince new and different things
Travel – see the world. Sounds great but not something that I would find easy. I have physchological problem about getting into new enviroments, unless its for a known purpose or I have a particular goal in mind
Achieve respect and good communicaiton with partner.
Treat others the way I would want to be treated. Don’t judge people without truly understanding them.
To listen to many, everybody has a different propestive to live, so don’t close your mind to these prepectives, even if I can not understand how I will ever agree with that prepestive.
To learn, to read, to grow, to understand
I plan to enlarge on this. It will grow and change as I grow. And obviously the 10 years will keep on moving the goal posts

wow – good on you girl. Total inspiration.
I’d delete that last comment if I were you – the guy is just trying to get people to read his very peculiar blog. He left a message on mine too.
