Challenge Wanaka

The goal for this year is challenge wanaka.

A iron distance race, on one of the toughest courses around. Maybe not the best option for a first iron distance race. But a big ironman race doesn’t really appeal.

The journey to get there:

  • Invested in a coach. Jo from Complete Performance
  • Hope to do a Marathon in August
  • Do 5 Passed tour start November
  • Do SI Half Ironman race
  • Do some duathlons over winter, and smaller triathlons in summer / spring
  • Spends several hours on feet, bike and pool

So whats different this time?

I am slightly worried about my attitude, for c2c I had no Idea when I started if I could do it. Achieving was all that was important at the end of the day.  The Kepler was scary because it was a step into the unknown, I did not know what it would be like and how I would cope.

This time around I am not worried or scared that I can’t achieve this. It will hurt and unless I pull finger and get some good and decent training together, it could be very slow. But I will be able to do it!
